25 Sep Once Lost, Now Found
Kiran* was born into a family that did not know the Christian faith. As he sought salvation and meaning to his life, he wandered through temples and undertook many pilgrimages. There was a deep longing within him that could not be satisfied, and he felt compelled to search until he found an answer.
Sometime later, someone shared the story of Jesus and gave him a New Testament Bible. As he read, he became acutely aware of a deep pain within him, and despaired that he would never be rid of it. Then, Kiran stumbled onto the parable of the shepherd who went out to search for one lost sheep. He felt something stir in his spirit but could not understand it.
Around the same time, a missionary visited his family’s home and told them of Jesus, the Son of God who came to earth as a man and died on the cross for the sins of the world. Kiran chose to accept Christ, and after saying the salvation prayer, felt the tight grip of pain inside him loosen.
Finally, he could breathe again. He experienced a lightness that he hadn’t known before and watched the days that followed overflow with peace, joy and love.
Kiran is now pursuing a Bachelor of Theology under the capable guidance of Rahul*, one of AsiaCMS’ Co-Mission Partners in Nepal.“Online study and ministry together have been a great blessing to us. We’re grateful for the opportunity to study God’s Word,”, he says.
Kiran’s life has been transformed by God’s love. Now, he and his wife desire to share with their community the same peace, joy and love they have found in knowing Jesus.
