Stephen Edison

Executive Team Director

Stephen has been with AsiaCMS since its inception and now steps into this new role at the helm while he continues to lead the South Asia Region. He has an M.Div., and an MA in International Relations. After a brief stint in the corporate world after university, he has worked extensively in Missions and has a breadth of experience in the areas of peace building and community development in the region.

Rev Chan NamChen (PhD)

Director-At-Large

Dr. Chan holds a PhD in Intercultural Studies with a focus on Missions and Leadership in cross-cultural situations. He has been in ministry in the past as a cross-cultural church planter, trainer, senior pastor and denominational leader. Dr. Chan desires that churches, Christian organisations and Christians from diverse backgrounds collaborate to fulfil God’s mission – people engaged with the gospel, churches planted, and the love of Christ demonstrated in practical ways.

T. GT

Southeast Asia Director

T. GT has more than 15 years of on-ground voluntary and full-time mission experience in reaching the next generation and using tech for good. In addition to his work with AsiaCMS, he manages various media platforms. His missions involvement is an amalgamation of his unique experiences and history. He has a Masters in
Sustainable Development and uses that knowledge to provide consultation to businesses for socio-economic growth for communities. At his local church, he leads the university-students group and intentionally mentors the next generation in faith.

Cynthia Cheong

Operations Manager

Cynthia has over 20 years of experience in the accounting and audit field across multiple industries. Through AsiaCMS, Cynthia has found a valuable opportunity to deepen her understanding of mission service and her desire to be a channel of God’s love. She views this experience not merely as a job, but as a journey of joy, firmly believing it to be God’s work, not hers!

Eddie Leong

Finance Manager

Eddie has been working in the field of accounting for more than 35 years in the
commercial sector. Soon after completing his professional studies in CIMA (The
Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), he started his career in an audit
firm for 3 years, where he learned most of the local accounting standards. Presently,
he is a treasurer of board of New Hope Centre A/G, a local church in Kuala Lumpur
since 2022.

Qarlene Rishiqa

Communications Manager & Southeast Asia Programs Coordinator

Qarlene (Q for short) loves reading and writing and pursued her degree in
Communication. She believes that all forms of communication are important,
especially when building and maintaining a relationship with God. Besides her work
with AsiaCMS, Q passionately serves at her local church and community as a part of
their Sunday school, music team and church board.

Daniella Varghese

Communications Coordinator – South Asia Team

Daniella consistently seeks to learn new things. She embraces challenges as
opportunities for growth, knowing that in time, God can and will use the gifts He has
given her for His glory.

This has given her a wide range of skills to adapt to the
various roles she has at her local church, the work she does with children and youth,
the duties she fulfils for the South Asian Christian Youth Network as one of the
coordinators, and with AsiaCMS – leading communications for the South Asia Team.

Eleena Thomas

Co-Missions Partner Program Manager

With a background in Human Resources and an MBA in International Management, Eleena values deep relationships and purposeful collaboration. Her experience across cultures and her heart for people have equipped her to adapt to the different roles she holds — encouraging leaders and partners through her work as Programs and Partnerships Manager with AsiaCMS, serving on various teams at her local church, or simply journeying with others in everyday ministry, trusting that God can use each connection for His greater purpose.

Ashish Christian

Country Coordinator (Nepal)

Ashish is a Theological Educator with a Master of Theology (Missiology). He is presently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at Asbury Theological Seminary. He loves meeting young people and is a passionate teacher and preacher in different churches.

With a musical background, he leads the choir and oversees the recording studio at the theological institution that he is attached with. Ashish believes that the biblical mandate of mission constrains us to reach out to the unreached, to present Christ and an authentic gospel through action that is transformative.

Esther John

Safeguarding Manager & Country Coordinator (Sri Lanka)

Passionate about promoting child wellbeing, Esther is a safeguarding and psycho-social practitioner with expertise in safeguarding systems, training, and policy development. Beyond her roles with AsiaCMS, she works independently as a consultant, supporting non-profit organizations across the region.

Joshua Thai

Country Coordinator (Vietnam)

Joshua, an ordained elder and dedicated businessman, serves his local church and
engages in mission work across Vietnam. As the Country Coordinator, he partners
with local churches, focusing on outreach to rural and tribal communities and
counsels tribal pastors and their spouses, strengthening their families.

He also runs a mercy ministry, providing accommodation and care for impoverished tribal parents
whose children are undergoing treatment for serious heart conditions. Joshua also
loves to support youth ministry through sports outreach, camps, and discipleship
programs, equipping the next generation of believers

The Board of Trustees

AsiaCMS Berhad is a company limited by guarantee in Malaysia. 

We have a group of trustees to preserve, protect and promote the values, vision and principles of AsiaCMS.  They have wide skills and missions experience, and provide guidance and governance for AsiaCMS to fulfil its mission and purpose. 

They are led by Bishop Andy Shie as Chair and Pastor Margaret Loy as Co-Chair.

Bishop Andy is the Vicar of an Anglican church in the capital city of Brunei Darussalam. He also serves as the Assistant Bishop and an Archdeacon in the Diocese of Kuching which comprises of 50 parishes in Sarawak (East Malaysia) and Negara Brunei Darussalam. He’s married to Dona and they have one son.

Margaret was the former CEO of Community Transformation Initiative. She is currently working part time with Eastern College Australia as the Master of Transformational Development (MTD) Global Project Manager, and doing freelance work on Risk Management, Community Development & Impact Management.

Rev. Vinod is an ordained minister of the Church of South India and is now Chaplain of the Anglican Church in Freiburg, Germany on deputation in cross cultural mission. He is also the Area Dean of Germany in the Archdeaconry of Germany and Northern Europe of the Diocese of Europe, Church of England. He has pastoral experience in Asia, Australia and Europe. He has been involved with AsiaCMS through the initial phases to where it is now, and closely accompanies initiatives such as the South Asian Christian Youth Network.

Andrew, based in Malaysia, is a practising Barrister focusing on constitutional and human rights law, legislative reform, and public interest issues. He is also a Lay Canon in the Anglican Church.

Francis is from Hong Kong and has been in professional fund management for close to three decades. He is also being called to mission across Asia especially in national leaders’ development and the Business As Mission space.

Pax Tan, pastored Lutheran Churches and a Baptist Church before his retirement in 2024. He has a long history of involvement with social action and leadership with the Malaysian charity Malaysian CARE, a social NGO.

DR HAROON LALDIN
DR HAROON LALDIN
Dr Haroon is the founding Director of the Akash Christian Society and Kunhar Christian Hospital, both based in northern Pakistan. A medical doctor by profession, he has devoted over three decades to indigenous medical missions and church planting in no church lands. His research interests focus on theological perspectives surrounding the Return of Christ, particularly within Islamic faith traditions.

Juliate is a prominent social development activist, feminist speaker, and advocate for the vulnerable. She is the first female Executive Director of the Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB), one of the largest ecumenical NGOs in Bangladesh.

Juliate has extensive expertise in program development, strategic and operational management, particularly in livelihood and women development, climate justice, and in humanitarian sectors. She also serves on various international and national executive boards, committees, and working groups.

Rev. Dr. Lee is an ordained pastor and belongs to the Presbyterian Church of Korea (PCK), located in South Korea. He served as Senior Pastor of Shingwang Church, Professor of the Busan Presbyterian Theological Seminary and as Director of the Ecumenical Training Centre, PCK. Now, he is serving as Coworker in CSI (Church of South India) and CNI (Church of North India) from PCK and as the Coworker for the Anglican Church of Kenya. Dr. Lee comes on board with a rich experience as a grass- roots Mission Worker.
